Marshall Dean Whitaker is a nonprofit executive and career services expert with more than 15 years of experience helping organizations grow, build stronger teams, and expand their community impact. His leadership style blends strategic vision with a deep commitment to service, operational excellence, and client success.
Marshall’s professional journey began as Pastor of East Baptist Church in DeFuniak Springs, Florida, where he led outreach initiatives and day-to-day operations. He later transitioned to the nonprofit sector as Operations Director for the Safe Connections (formerly The Judge Ben Gordon Jr. Family Visitation Center), overseeing multi-county programs and strengthening inter-agency partnerships through improved service models and staff development.
In 2011, Marshall relocated to Wyoming and took on the role of Senior Pastor at United Baptist Church in Riverton, Wyoming. Over more than a decade, he guided strategic growth initiatives, enhanced member engagement through technology and outreach, and developed leadership pipelines through mentoring and collaboration with educational institutions.
Additionally, Marshall continued his nonprofit leadership as Service Coordinator and SOAR Program Lead with Volunteers of America Northern Rockies, where he built community alliances and helped drive major progress in veteran housing initiatives.
Alongside his nonprofit leadership, Marshall built a dynamic career in career services. He founded My Career Consultant, served in a senior editorial role with Indeed Career Services, and provides subject matter expertise across career services matters for Storeyline Resumes/Talent Worldwide Inc., completing over 6,000 career services projects, securing $250M+ in employer commitments for clients, and improving operational processes through CRM and content strategies.
Marshall holds an Associate of Arts and Bachelor of Arts from the Baptist University of Florida, dual master’s degrees from Liberty University, and a Doctor of Ministry in Conflict Management from St. Petersburg Theological Seminary. He is currently pursuing an MBA at the University of the People and maintains certifications in Business Coaching, Career Coaching, Human Resource Management, and Project Management.
